Kung Fu Fitness @ BFPP
Join our kung fu fitness program in the gym @ Larrabee BFPP
This class is priced for a whole season (8-12 weeks depending on the season & holiday schedules)
K-5th grade Fridays 10-11am
5th-8th grade Fridays 11-12pm
In our after school programs, we start with fundamental stances, basic stretches, breathing, awareness and mobility drills, with games, obstacle courses, and other play based learning methods. Once our students can demonstrate awareness and safely use the foundational skills & principals of Iron Lotus Kung Fu, we move beyond the self awareness aspects and begin adding depth & perception. this is when we will add striking drills (shuffling/punches/kicks) & games in accordance to their skill levels (limited to no contact between students, pads and paddles are always used as targets.) As our class learns and develops, we will go deeper into the 5 animal aspects, and 5 elements of hung gar boxing that quantify our system, building a strong relationship between student's self and their peers within the community, while experiencing a deeply rooted culture with an accredited lineage that can be traced back to origins of the the shaolin temples! Lam family Hung Gar (Lam Ga Hung Kuen) is a Southern Chinese martial art (南派) which combines the direct, forceful movements of Tiger Style with the evasive, indirect tactics of Crane Style that has been refined by masters over the 2+ centuries! By the end of every season, we have a group of friends that are excited about learning, identifying, accepting, and processing difficulties, and focusing on strong principals to manifest the greatest strengths within each student, while accepting and honing our weak points!
